Information
The museum was originally established by Dr. Rampa and Mr. Manop Rattanarithikul, who contributed over 50 years of their life with malaria research. In 2011, Dr. Rampa Rattanarithikul received the John N. Belkin Memorial Award from American Mosquito Control Association (AMCA), making her the first mosquito specialist in the Southeast Asia to receive such award. Museum of World Insects and Natural Wonders displays stories of mosquito vectors, butterflies, insects, shells, over 145-year petrified wood, rare stones, exotic stones, along with poems that reflect the feeling, thoughts and concerns in the Earth’s nature. There are Thai insect species, as well as alien insects. For example, beetles, Hercules Beetle, butterflies, grasshoppers. Apart from insects, there are also plant fossils, ancient animal remains and collectible stones. One of the distinctions of this museum is that it has more than 400 mosquito species in Thailand that took over 40 years to collect to serve medical purposes.

Getting There
The museum is 15 minutes from Chiang Mai International Airport. Visitors can either drive (parking space is available) or take a songthaew here (Cost: 20 baht/person).
