Information
Authong National Museum is a significant museum in term of archaeology and history. It was built to preserve and showcase artifacts and art objects from the archaeological excavation of U Thong City. The exhibition includes these followings topics:
Exhibition Building No. 1 houses the permanent exhibition about U Thong City and Dvaravati culture. It consists of two exhibition rooms “U Thong Ancestors” and “Glorious U Thong of Dvaravati.”
Exhibition Building No.2 showcases the permanent exhibition about Suvarnabhumi (the Golden Kingdom), historical progress of U Thong City, maritime trade route and U Thong City as the center of Buddhism. The exhibition is classified into these following parts:
Zone 1 of the second-level exhibition houses the “Historical Progress of the Land of Suvarnabhumi” exhibition.
Zone 2 of the second-level exhibition houses the “Suvarnabhumi: Trade of the Ancient World” exhibition.
Exhibition Building No.3 or Lao Song House is the unique home structure found among the Tai Song Dam or Lao Song people, a significant ethnic group living in U Thong District, Muang District, Song Phi Nong District and Bang Pla Ma District in Suphanburi Province

- Clay image of a Buddhist monk holding an alms-bowl, Indian art, the oldest to be discovered in Thailand
- Part of the stucco Buddha Statue under the Protective Cover of a 9-Headed Naga, Dvaravati-Indian art from the 9th to 10th Century BE
- Bronze inscription with Pallava scripts, Dhavarati art from the 13th to 14th Century BE
- Wheel of Dhamma with attached altar and pillars, Dharavati art from the 12th to 13th Century BE

Wednesday – Sunday and public holidays from 09.00 - 16.00 hrs.
Admission fee
30 Baht for Thai citizens and 150 Baht for foreigners Students in uniform, monks, novices and priests of other religions, as well as senior citizens older than 60 years old are exempted from entrance fee.
Getting There
Take the 340 Highway, turn left on the 357 route (before entering Suphanburi town) and continue for around 10 kilometers. Turn left at Malai Maen Road (Route 321) and continue for about 21 kilometers towards U Thong District. Turn left, the museum is on the right side.
