Vongburi House was house of noblemen and rulers of Phrae, established in 1897 .According to the idea of Chao Mae Bua Tha , The first wife of Chao Luang Piriyathepwong ,the last ruler of Phrae. She assigned Pho Chao Phrom (Luang Phong Phiboon) and her adopted daughter, Chao Sunanta Wongburi ( daughter of Chao Buri (Phraya Burirat), the younger brother of the Chao Mae Bua Tha) . Vongburi House was built by Chinese craftsmen.It is a large 2-storey teak house, with 1 meter of the brick floor. The architecture is a Thai-European style called gingerbread style , It richly decorated with intricate wood carvings in vine pattern to decorate all house . The house design is so notable. The two storey building with a high hip roof and between the floors having vents . The original roof was wooden scales later it was changed to be the tiles. The house was designed in Open air. The rooms ceilings are ornately carved open clerestory to let light and air into the rooms in accordance with the tropical climate of Phrae Province .This house is connected to another house which is a wooden house with an open basement . The buildings have a connecting terrace and Teon ( platform ). It used as living and dining areas. There are twenty nicely decorated rooms . Museum displays in the way of life of noblemen and rulers of Phrae in the past ,including beauty of architecture .The side of the house show making silverware by local technicians of Phrae Province and also selling of silverware and handicraft products .
