Information
Ban Yamaratcho belonged to Chao Phraya Yommarat. In 1904, it was used as a place to welcome King Chulalongkorn. Later, the King renamed the house to “Baan Yamaratcho”, a name still used nowadays. Chao Phraya Yommarat was the first who donated money to establish Chao Phraya Yommarat Hospital which is considered the largest and most important state hospital in Suphan Buri. The hospital then used his name as the hospital's name ever since. After having been restored, Baan Yamaratcho was opened to visitors. It is a traditional Thai house of the central region of Thailand, consisting of one living room, one sitting room, two bedrooms, one central room and one kitchen. On the right side is the room for paying respect to Chao Phraya Yommarat. The house stands on columns high above the ground, leaving empty space under the house. It was built with wood, with carved wooden partition as its wall.
