On the auspicious occasion that Thailand celebrated the 6th Cycle of Birthday Anniversary of King Bhumibol Adulyadej on 5 December 1999, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) was determined to express our uttermost respect and honour through the construction project of King Bhumibol Dam Commemorative Building at Bhumibol Dam. The exhibition has 3 sections as follows:
1) Background on the construction of Bhumibol Dam
2) Stories of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and members of the royal family and their roles in terms of water source development. There are pictures of the royal visits to Bhumibol Dam and other dams under the responsibility of EGAT, as well as their visits to rural areas.
3) Exhibition on the “Royal Antenna” that King Bhumibol Adulyadej had given to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand. The mezzanine level has the collection of books on the royal biography of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and a series of encyclopedia on regions of Thailand. There is a corner that visitors can sit back and enjoy reading. CDs and PCs are available for those who are keen to learn about the construction of Bhumibol Dam.

Getting There
From Bangkok, use Highway 1. Continue on Phaholyothin Road and turn left at Wang Noi Junction into Asia Road (Highway 32). Pass Kamphaeng Phet and arrive Tak Province. Turn left at the 463th kilometre marker and continue for about17 kilometres to arrive the Bhumibol Dam.
