With more than 100 years of history, Charoen Chai Community is home to local shops that have inherited their business from generation to generation. On every important festival, the place will be flocked with Thai Chinese shoppers as it was the centre of offerings and worship objects, herbal shops, restaurants with original recipes and camera retailers in Plabplachai neighbourhood. Located at 32, Charoen Krung 23 Alley, near Mangkon Kamalawat Temple, Historic Hut at Charoen Chai Community is a museum in traditional shophouse in Yaowarat. Previous residents were a group of Chinese opera artists that was once highly famous.
