Information
Clay Clay Arts and Culture Tribal Life of Ban Ja Laa was established in 2002 from the cooperation and unity of the Lahu tribe. It indicates the movement of this small community which tries to tell their own story, shows their tribe’s identity and realizes their uniqueness in today’s main developments. Household utensils which show the tribe’s way of life were donated to be on display. There are 4 clay pavilions and 2 bamboo houses, built from the strength of Ban Ja Laa’s villagers and took over 6 months to finish. The buildings serve as a stage for performances about the tradition, culture and way of life. There is also a room which screens a documentary about the tribe, shops from community and 3 clay buildings for learning and carrying on traditions. Inside the cultural and way of life of Ban Ja Laa pavilion are various buildings, artifacts which showcase the culture and way of life of this tribe, utensils which the community wholeheartedly donated to the museum to be a learning source.
