Information
Queen Savang Vadhana Museum was built with the private fund of Her Majesty Queen Sri Savarindira, the Queen Grandmother of Thailand. It was originally built to be a building for administration and medical examination in the hospital area. The building was completed in 1931 and was officially opened on May 14, 1392. Later, the Thai Red Cross Society built Queen Savang Vadhana Museum to commemorate and to glorify Her Majesty Queen Sri Savarindira. The exhibition room is divided into 4 sections. The first section “Phrabaromratchatewi Sibenjamaratch” exhibits Her Majesty Queen Sri Savarindira’s biography. The second section “Sawangwattana Tha Karun” exhibits the royal grace of Her Majesty Queen Sri Savarindira in various fields which are significant to Thailand such as medicine, social welfare, and the Thai Red Cross Society. The third section “Charungboon to Sriracha” exhibits Her Majesty Queen Sri Savarindira’s palace, its furniture and utensils . The fourth section “In Remembrance of Her Majesty” exhibits Her Majesty’s royal grace for introducing hospitals into Thailand. The room displays the history and development of hospitals in the country. The museum building is in applied European-style architecture.
