Information
To showcase Thai wisdom, Srinakarinwirot University built a complex of traditional Thai house with an influence of the central culture as the university is located in the central region of Thailand. Later it was named “Sirindhorn Thai House Complex” in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn who graduated doctorate degree from the university. This traditional house was built mostly from golden teak and reinforced concrete. The upper level is divided into an exclusive office for HRH Princess Sirindhorn, a Thai wisdom library, an exhibition hall, meeting rooms, an activity space and an office room. On the ground level, apart from an air-conditioned glass room exhibiting Thai wisdom through objects, there is a sala by a pond, an outdoor sculpture called Nok Khum, which was created by Kamol Tassananchalee Ph. D., a national artist on Thailand in visual arts (paintings and multimedia). A collection of large and small antique items are displayed indoor and outdoor around the complex, such as a coconut shell ladle, a wooden wagon, a rake, a plow, a glazed water jar with dragon patterns, a wooden bucket, glass cups, a wooden cabinet and a Tipitaka cabinet.
