Information
Suriyanuvat Museum for National Development or Baan Suriyanuvat formerly belonged to Minister Phraya Suriyanuvat. His birth name was Kerd Bunnak and he was considered Thailand’s first economist with his contributions to the country’s finance. About 4-5 years after he passed away, his heirs sold some of his land and the Suriyawan House to the government. Later, it was used as the National Economic Council and modern buildings were built around it. Suriyanuvat House then was called the central building. Later, the Fine Arts Department began to renovate the house in 1990. When the restoration was finished, it was named “Suriyanuvat Building”. The building is two-storey high. Exhibit zones include:
1. Suriyanuvat Room
2. National Economic Development Plans no. 1 - 7 Room
3. National Economic Development Plans no. 8 - 10 Room
4. Hall of Fame
5. Sufficiency Economy Room
