Information
Chitralada shop, established at the initiative of Queen Sirikit, and Naresuan University collaboratively founded Textile Museum at Naresuan University. Its opening ceremony took place on December 1, 1999. The museum, which consists of 5 sections, not only showcases various kinds of Thai textiles but also life of ethnic-immigrants. Section 1 is Chitralada textile room displays Queen Sirikit’s clothes and pieces of cloth with antique patterns under preservation of The SUPPORT Foundation. Section 2 features Thai Krang ancient textile and culture. Thai Krang is an ethnic group immigrated from Laos in the period of King Rama III and settled down in lower northern region of Siam. Section 3 is dedicated to Thai Srong Dam’s uncommon black apparel, their tools and equipment, rituals and beliefs. Section 4 is reserved for a temporary exhibition on life and civilization of Mekong-Salawin region. Section 5 consists of office rooms, a library, a museum tour staff working area and an information center.

Getting There
With private car: From Bangkok, take Highway number 1 (Phaholyothin) to Wang Noi. Then take Highway 32 (Asia). Drive to Nakhon Sawan. Then take Highway number 1 to Nakhon Sawan city center. Then turn right to Highway number 117. Go straight for 156.8 km. Naresuan University is on the right. The destination is inside.
