Information
Tilleke & Gibbins Textile Collection Museum started from the idea that the Tilleke & Gibbins law firm wanted to decorate its office with art pieces and chose to use antique textiles. Wanting to preserve these textiles, the law firm started collecting them and once they realized their collection was of museum-quality, they opened the collection to the public who took interest in studying these textiles. Most textiles in the collection came from Southeast Asia. Exhibitions includes only selected pieces and not the whole collection due to various reasons including the size difficulty, value, and also the congruity in the pattern, material, and quality of the overall displays. The exhibitions are rotated every 6 month - 1 year. Precious textiles kept in storeroom can be requested to be observed.
