As Thailand’s largest open zoo, Khao Kheow Open Zoo not only has wildlife conservation and research, but also serves as the source of learning and a major attraction of the east. The zoo was established with the objectives to breed and conserve species, as well as to enhance the balance of nature and environment for which will benefit the country in the long run. Moreover, the zoo aims to provide services that related to study, research, recreation and improve the mind of young people and general public to be able to realise the importance of the conservation of nature and environment. Khao Kheow Open Zoo is well renowned as a recreational park for general public.

Getting There
Private Car Bangkok-Chonburi Motorway (Special Highway 7) is the most convenient route from Bangkok. Continue on Motorway, pass two tolls and continue until the “Pattaya” sign is noticeable. Continue on the left and turn left. Continue straight for approximately 9 kilometres. The sign of the zoo will be clearly shown. There will be a flyover in front of the entrance, which is the second bridge after the Motorway. From here, visitors should notice the signs that lead to the zoo along the way. Continue for about 6 kilometres and enter the zoo.
Air-conditioned Bus The first bus leaves Ekamai Bus Terminal at 5.50am and every 30 minutes until 9pm. Drop off at the entrance to Bang Saen Beach or at Nong Mon Market. Hire a song-thaew bus to the zoo. However, checking out the fare with local people before hailing is recommended.
