Information
The museum was established to collect, preserve and display antiques and artifacts which are national treasures and cultural resources in the northern part of Isaan (Northeastern region of Thailand) which found many of archeology sites. The display exhibition and services are as the following;
Exhibition section 1 : Pre-historical period exhibits history of Khonkaen province, which is the important place of Isaan civilization. The evidence concluded that there were many dwellers living in an ancient society in the province area
Exhibition section 2 : The history period and Davaravati Culture – Local people living near Shee River were influenced by Davaravati Culture through Sri Thep town. The Buddhist religion sacred place were constructed such as a stone Sema leave
Exhibition section 3 : Khmer culture Heritage – Exhibits historical story of Khonkaen province, and area of northern Isaan when influenced by Khmer culture or Ancient Khmer around Mool River. Most of Khmer religion sacred place consists of Laterite and sandstone decorated with God and angels carving.
Exhibition section 4 : Lan Chang Cultural Heritage – Exhibits the influence of Lan Chang Cultural around Khong River and Lanna Cultural , as evidenced by the Buddhist image with Lan Chang style
Exhibition section 5 : Rattanakosin era – display the history of Khonkaen town establishment, which began in King Rama I till King Rama IV had the name changed from “Khonkaen town” to “Khonkaen province”
Exhibition section 6: Local Isaan art and cultural hall – exhibits knowledge involves with lifestyle, culture and traditions, local belief, and many people with variety of races and minorities who shared the same area. The evidence are apparel, devices and tools, living places, music, dance which presents the unique identity of local people.

- Engraved lintel bas-reliref depicts Indra rides on Eravan, Lopburi period

Getting There
- By car from Bangkok, take Highway no.1 (Phaholyothin Road) head north to Saraburi province at Kilometer No. 107, turn right into Highway no.2 (Mitraphab Road) pass Nakhonrachasima province to Khonkaen. The estimate distance is 449 Kilometers.
- By bus, take the Bangkok-Khonkaen line from Thai Transportation Station (Mho Chit 2) service every day, estimate duration is 7 hours
