Information
“Waghor” is a historical village site where King Phrachomklao (King Mongkut), RAMA IV visited to prove the accuracy of his computation 2 years before, that there would be a total solar eclipse on Tuesday August 18th, 1868.
At the time, Thai people and foreigners were waiting to prove the accuracy of the King's computation. When the day of the expected eclipse came near, the King had Chao Phraya Srisuriyavonge build a camp in advance and he made use of this camp as his outdoor science laboratory and as a gathering place for scientists and foreign diplomats.
On May 16th, 1989, the cabinet approved the establishment the project of the Park at Waghor Village.
On May 3rd, 1990, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej named this place, the "King Mongkut Science Park at Waghor, Prachuab Khiri Khan Province".
On June 16th, 1993, the Ministry of Education announced the establishment of this place as an educational institute to honour King Mongkut and as a response to the policy of offering learning opportunities in science, technology, astronomy, space and the environment to students, youths and people nationwide. The institute is currently affiliated to the Office for the Promotion of Non-formal Education (ONFEC).
The King Mongkut Science Park at Waghor offers 3 learning based groups by exhibition on diffferent buildings as follows:
1. The Science and Technology Group, consists of the Opening Computer World Base , the Communication and Transportation, the Children's City Base , the Future World Base, the Science Village Base , the Father of Thai Science Base, the Practise Scinece Base, the Opening the World of Energy Base, the Science Park Base, the Technology for Professions Base, Practice Ancient Place Base.
2. Astronomy and Space Group, consists of the Sky over Waghor Base, Human and stars base, Thai royal family and astronomy base, Spirit of Prachuab folks base, stories of Space and Universe learning base , and the Father of Thai Technology Base
3. The Nature and the Environment Group, consisting of the Natural Study Base , the Bird and Insect Base , Resources from the Land and Rock Gardens Base , the Ecological System, Our World, Mountain and Sea Base , the Dampened Area Base , the Aquatic Animal Museum Base ,and the Natural Agriculture Depending on Sufficiency Economy Base.

Important / Interesting artifacts
- Astronomy and Space buildings, a complex of 3 two-storey buildings; consists of the Phuntiwathit, the Phunphinitchanthra and the Daratasnee —connected by a passageway, which showcase the genius of King RAMA IV and King RAMA IX, including astronomy and space exhibition.
- The front building is a dome structure, present the Timeline from present back to the past by using exhibited posters along the passage to the top deck. The top is a scenic spot dedicated to view skyline and scenic of Waghor village.

Admission fee
30 Baht for adults and 20 Baht for children (not over 120 centimeters high).
*The fees are waived for monks, novices, elderly, disabled and deprived as well as those under the care of social welfare organizations.
Getting There
- By car from Bangkok, take the Thonburi-Pakthor Highway (Highway No. 35) to pass through Samut Sakhorn - Samut Songkhram - Phetchburi - Prachuab Khiri Khan Province.
- By bus - daily bus services, both first-class air conditioned and second-class air conditioned bus, start from the New Southern Bus Terminal on Boromratchchonnanee Road offers a on the Bangkok-Prachuab Khiri Khan route.
