Information
In 1997, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University was allocated a 40-million baht budget for the construction of planetarium building with a star projector. However, the economy recession had delayed the project until July 1999 that the university was granted the name “Rajabhat Planetarium” (the named engraved on the pillar). Thus, the centre has become Thailand’s second planetarium after Bangkok Planetarium. Practically, the approval of planetarium construction was the result of the development project for the learning of science and technology in 36 Rajabhat universities nationwide for which was allocated from 1993 to 2001 through the establishment of science and technology centres.
The King Mongkut’s Memorial Planetarium features basic astronomy, sky phenomena, solar system, star storytelling, zodiac and winter stars.
