Information
King Prajadhipok Museum is the royal museum which was formerly located under the Grand Statue of King Prajadhipok or Rama VII in front of the Parliament house. Queen Rambhai Barni, consort of King Rama VII granted her royal appliance to exhibit in the museum, and in service for public in 1980. Later, King Prajadhipok's Institute was tasked with the museum management and was granted the permission from the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning to use its former 3-storey office building as King Prajadhipok Museum
The museum is classified into 6 exhibition and service zones as:
First Level Exhibition Room – This presents Her Majesty the Queen Rambhai Barni's biography, royal duties and characters, notably Her Majesty's childhood days, marriage and trips in Thailand and abroad. Her Majesty's personal belongings and items are also exhibited.
Second Level Exhibition Room – This tells King Prajadhipok's biography before His Majesty succeeded the throne, notably His study years in Europe, ordination and marriage. This room also presents His Majesty's characters and interests such as music, sports and movies along with His Majesty's life after the abdication until His death. The story about the museum can also be found in this room.
Third Level Exhibition Room – The room features the royal decorations, clothes, hats and shoes. It also presents the King's significant royal duties. A model of the Memorial Bridge (Phra Phuttha Yodfa Bridge), which was constructed to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Bangkok, is also presented. Sala Chalermkrung - This is the movie room which follows the style of Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre where King Prajadhipok would screen movies from His own-made ones, contemporary classic hits and documentary about administration.
Rambhai Barni Building – This place groups together the exhibitions on Thailand's politics and administration which consist of the Thai Parliament Permanent Exhibition, the Thai Cabinet Museum and the Thai Decoration Museum. The King's vehicle from His England years is also featured,
King Prajadhipok Information Center – This is the special library which gathers books, documents, visual media, ministerial documents stored as microform and copies of His photos and personal films. A collection of research from various countries can also be found.
