Museum information. Lanna Architecture Center Is under the management of the Faculty of Architecture Chiang Mai University. It is intended to be the center for collecting, storing, displaying and studying Lanna architectural from the past to the present. There is an office at Khum Chao Burirat (Maha In), which is an old building more than 120 years old. Chiang Mai University has received donations from Khun Riangphan Thippayamonthon and Ajarn Julathat Kittibut on March 9, 2001. Khum Chao Burirat or Khum Klang Wiang, formerly owned by Chao Burirat Maha In, the grandchild of Chao Phraya Khamfan (The third ruler of Chiang Mai) assumed that it should be built between 1889-1893. Later, Chaonoi Chomchuen Na Chiang Mai, the son inherited and was the possessor of the building. Later,Mrs. Buaphan Nikornpan bought from Chao Budsaba Na Chiang Mai (Chaonoi Chomchuen Na Chiang Mai’s wife ) and finally it was belonging to Khun Riangphan Thippayamonthon who received this legacy . Next the family of Kittibut and Thippayamonthon has given Khum Chao Burirat (Maha In) to Chiang Mai University to be used as Office of Lanna Architecture Center under the supervision and the work of the Architecture faculty. Khum Chao Burirat (Maha In) is an example of architecture that combines the local and western characteristics. The western architecture had influence in building of Chiang Mai city in early age and also expressed the influence of brickwork, wood processing, wood entry techniques .With the change of the economic and social system of Chiang Mai during the end of the reign of King Rama V, the building is a half-mortar half-timbered house, stairs on the outside , Ground floor is curved brick (Arch),and plastered around the balcony .The upper floor is teak wood floor with a balcony around ,the gable roof and the hipped roof that is covered with clay tiles. At present, the building is still in good condition. It is presented that a strong and durable construction technology in the past. Architectural library showing models of building such as Ton Kwaen temple, local house, Tai Lue house, temple structure etc. 5. Book Library 6. Photo library of various temple pictures , such as Ubosod Song Song , Phra Singh Woramahawihan Temple , Phan Tao Temple and Ketkaram Temple
