Museum information. Mr.Anong Nilmuang was a Bangkok native and Mrs Chiao was a native of Chainat Province . Mr. Anong worked at Department of Highways , Phrae Province last 10 years and bought this land to be a private residence in 1990. Both of them love and are interesting in preserving the culture of Lanna . They collected ancient things and various household items. In 1998-1999 ,Mrs. Chaliao began to work on clay molding that inspired by an artist named Kang Dusadee Rakmanee. Her lively clay sculptures show the way of life of Lanna. Her works transfer happiness and smile, fun with being a good-humored woman. More than 8 years, Nilmuang family is determined to share knowledge, happiness, self-sufficiency without aiming for business profits which corresponds to the speech of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as sufficiency economy philosophy in 2007. The objectives and concepts of Mae Pun Din Pho Tum Suan will follow by King’s philosophy and encouraged the place to be ‘Lanna folk Wisdom learning resources according to the sufficiency economy philosophy”. It can be said that this Mae Pun Din Pho Tum Suan is not only a corner or a room, but all area is soul of owner to present their identity .Visitors can join activities of the house, such as clay activities, Dining and homestay. They will learn about the way of life ,culture , tradition ,folk wisdom, handicrafts, pottery of Mrs Chalio and also learning about garden from Mr.Anong . Most of exhibited objects are folk art .For the clay works , they are all master piece because each piece can be done once. Repetition may look similar but not life-like details. It is a private museum that exhibits private sculptures and use the barn as a museum which shows Lanna folk wisdom, farming tools, fishery tools , animal husbandry, weaving, daily necessities, such as Khan Toke, betel, woven fabric , antique mirror , ancient silver money bag , silver iron, and weave machinery.
