Mr. Banchop and Mrs. Somchit Pharueang are antiques collectors who have collected ancient textile for over 15 years. In the beginning their collections were for private business. Soon as the number of ancient textiles began to reduce and acquiring them became difficult, the couple realized these antiques they acquire and sell for profit would one day vanish. The couple then began contacting and coordinating between their relatives and acquaintances they had bought ancient textiles from, both within their village and 3 neighboring sub district, to start weaving these ancient textiles again and then established Lao Si - Lao Krang Ancient Hand-Woven Textile Learning Center on October 15, 1998 to preserve the ancient pattern woven-fabric of the Lao Si - Lao Krang culture and to be a training center for it. The learning center holds regular ancient Lao Si - Lao Krang weaving activities for visitors.
