Wat Saen Mueang Ma came from name of the Mang village of Xishuangbanna, the People's Republic of China, is currently located in Ban Mang, Yuan District, Chiang Kham District, Phayao Province. It is a temple built in the form of a Tai Lue art. Various signs in the temple area are in both Thai and Chinese languages. Tai Lue people traveled between Thailand and Xishuangbanna. It assumed to built in the early Rattanakosin period .The wooden roof that is very beautiful , Tai Lue art. The gable is a carved wooden statue of the goddess. On the floor is beautifully carved wood , the entrance staircase is a serpent shape. The door on the side of the entrance has a statue of a double lion guarding the door. The mural in the temple is a work of folk craftsmen telling about the way of life of Tai Lue people, the ordination of monks, making merit, Songkran Festival, rural life and various traditions .In addition, there is a flag (Tung) hanging according to the belief that it is dedicated to the deceased to be in the heaven. Tai Lue people were originally living in Xishuangbanna and traveled to Lanna for a long time. They are similar culture and language .Tai Lue people love to live on the river at north such as Nan, Chiang Rai, Chiang Mai, Lampang, Lamphun and Phayao, Chiang Kham District and other districts. Tai Lue Cultural Center was established at Wat Yuan, about 500 meters north of Wat Saen Muang Ma. In the cultural center, showing the history of Tai Lue people completely.
