NIDA MUSEUM
NIDA MUSEUM was established under the administration of Prof. Dr. Sombat Thamrongthanyawong, President of NIDA with an initiative of institutionalizing NIDA as a source of advanced knowledge and linkage to Thai society for its personnel and future generations to be proud of the institution as a source of knowledge and a link to the society. The museum also reflects the dignity and continued advancement of the Institute. The construction of the museum began in September 2012 and completed in May 2013 with a total of 216 square meters of exhibit space.
There are three zones:
Zone 1: From His Majesty the King's Resolution to an Institute for Development
This zone presents the royal initiative which led to the establishment of the Institute, the kind attention of His Majesty the King and persons involved in pioneering the establishment of the Institute as well as the cooperation from abroad especially with Mr. David Rockefeller, Dr. Stacy May, the Ford Foundation.
Presentation: Transparent Display technique is applied to integrate contents into objects on display with interactive combination.
Zone 2: History of Thai Society and NIDA
This zone presents the history of the Institute in conjunction with the social history of Thailand. Divided into five decades through 20 video presentations.
Zone 3: Wisdom for Change
This zone features the history of the Institute until its present, based on the wisdom of Presidents in different times of the administration of the institute and the direction of the institution for the future. The zone also prepares “Wisdom Pillars” for the visitors to take pictures and post them on the museum's facebook.
Presentation: Animation in three screens. Visitors can access information via multi-touch systems.
Distinction of the Museum
The Museum delivers its contents in new methods via multimedia and interactive applications. Not in the common exhibition format.
