Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, or Korat Zoo, is one of the most wonderful places for visiting in the Nakhon Ratchasima province, situated in north eastern region of Thailand. Korat Zoo is the fourth out of five zoos under administration of the Zoological Park Organization of Thailand under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King Rama IX.
Nakhon Ratchasima covers 218 acres. The zoo has been established since 23 May B.E. 2532 located on the plain laterite area where some areas have been adjusted to be the wave areas like Savanna grassland providing excellence of animals presented in their natural environment for the purpose of conservation, education and recreation. It was formally opened to the public since 14 December B.E. 2539 that General Prem Tinnasulanon, the privy councilor and Statesman, presided over the opening ceremony.

Getting There
From Bangkok (250 km from Korat): Drive on Mittaparp road number 2. Then change to Ratchasima-Pakthongchai highway road number 304 (19 km from downtown Korat). From downtown Korat you can take bus number 4129 to get to the zoo.
