Phuket Aquarium was established in 1983 as part of the internationally renowned Phuket Marine Biological Center (PMBC), a research and monitoring station within the Department of Marine and Coastal Resource (DMCR). The aquarium provides means to communicate research results and to promote environmental awareness.
