School and community jointly established Horplubpla Museum as a historical learning center to commemorate the King Rama VI and Princess Dara Rasmi , the princess consorts of Chulalongkorn, King Rama V. Both of them was used to stay at Horplubpla (the school area in the present day ) over 80 years ago and more than 100 years ago. School managed Horplubpla Museum to be a learning center to present the royal speeches, Royal Projects and Sufficiency Economy Philosophy of His Majesty the King as well as studying about Chiang Rai city in history , art, culture, traditions, wisdom of people in the community and tribes who are in the district and outside .
History of Horplubpla : On 13 October 1905, King Rama VI went to visit Northern Area traveled through various provinces such as Nakhon Sawan, Phichit, Uttaradit, Phrae, Lampang, Phayao until December 13, 1905 at the evening, he arrived at the Ban Huai San Luang and stayed at the " Horplubpla " which is the location of the current school . Next 20 years later . the princess consorts of Chulalongkorn, King Rama V, or the villagers called " Princess Dara Rasmi " . She traveled from Chiang Mai city to Chiang Rai . She traveled pass Weing Pa Pao ,Mae Suai and stayed at Horplubpla , next she went to Theong city , Chiang Kong ,Chiang Saen, Mae Sai and came back to stay at Horplubpla before went back to Chiang Mai city. This travelling route was between Chiang mai – Rong Gwang .This royal temporary residence was named "Ban Huai San” and changed to be “ Ban Huai San Plubpla " . In the year 1937 " Horplubpla " was damaged because lack of care .Pa Sang villagers Therefore made a proposal to the government to dismantle and constructed Pong Phrae Wittaya school (Formerly name is Pa Sang School ) later . In 1939, Ban Huai San Plubpla and nearby villages had a large number of school-age people. They proposed to the government to establish a school called " Ban Huai San Plubpla School" and opened the academic year 1939 . The villagers who 60 years old and over, such as Mae Ui Kiew Intha Wong, Por Ui-ta Thida told that once they were young they saw Princess Dara Rasmi traveled and stayed at Horplubpla with group of elephants and horses . They would come to clean the area and feed elephants and horses.
