In 1962, the government Cabinet approved the Ministry of Education task to construct Bangkok Planetarium and observatory, which is an important device and useful for the study of geography, science and astronomy. Moreover, the center serves as a place for youth getting together and easily learned from the real simulation. This technique is considered more clear and understand than lecturing in class, including create knowledge, rational ideas and fun. The exhibition is divided into;
Planetarium hall – There are presentations on dome ceiling inside the hall. The topic of presentations will be changed every 2 months.
Exhibition hall 2 – exhibits the advance of technologies in various fields, such as THEOS, Quickbird, and Terra satellite, etc. There are also scientific experiment corners such as Fun science, Space touch, Rolling sphere.
Exhibition hall 3 – Exhibit the wonders of life in the river, through rare and endangered fish, economic fish, freshwater and saltwater fish.
Exhibition hall 4 – Display Dinosaur exhibition, Green world treasure, World of insects, Kid town exhibition, Weird life, and Nature legacy.
Solar Energy Exhibition consists a basic knowledge of Solar Cell, types of Solar cell, principles of Solar cell, variety of Solar cell applications, including many process of Solar Energy. In front of the exhibition hall, there are example of real usage of alarm equipment which working on electrics from Solar cells, and Solar energy heater.
Apart from the exhibition halls, there are exhibition buildings which narrate stories, such as Bee and tiger, player field, learn of water pressure, learning about multiplication, dream cast with sand, learn to balance, tree houses, learning even and odd numbers, learn geometry, the trailing. Learn about the corner, learning numbers, learning to water transport, foot massage courtyard and so on.
