Information
Prasat Sdok Kok Thom means a big temple with full of reed. The temple was built of red sandstone and laterite, oriented towards the East. The temple in the middle is the main sanctuary, the inscription states that was the place for “Shiva linga” and “Yoni base”. The temple was assumed to be built around the 15th century, dedicated to be a place for worships and manage ritual by the principle the Hindu religion’s believing.
The site consists of 3 temples built as an ancient Khmer Hindu style. Its layout is oriented towards the East of the wall is “baray” or a large water reservoir connected with “Rainbow bridge” as its belief to be the walkway to heaven. A processional walkway flanked by pillars or “Sena Riang” with a “Gopura” or entrance gate. The inner sanctuary surrounded with laterite-paved made of sandstones and laterite.
East of temple located a “baray” a large square-shaped water reservoir, with the paved connected way from temple to the reservoir. Two ancient stone inscriptions were discovered at the site, evident the aged of the temple construction. The second most illuminating inscriptions was probably to commemorate the success of restoration of Prasat Sdok Kok Thom by King Sūryavarman II of the Khmer Empire.

Getting There
1. By car, there are 4 ways to reach as follows;
- Take Highway no.1 (Phaholyothin Rd.) to Rangsit along the Rangsit canel through Ongkarak district, Nakon Nayok province then turn right to use Highway no.33 through Kabin Buri to Sa Kaeo Province, estimate disctance 214 km.
- Take Highway no.1 (Phaholyothin Rd.) through Wang-Noi district, Ayudhaya province, and pass Hin Kong intersection to Km.90 turn right to use Highway no.33 through Vihard Daeng district, Sara Buri, Nakorn Nayok, Kabin Buri and to Sa Kaeo Province, estimate disctance 245 km.
- Take Highway no. 304 through Min buri district, Chachoengsao province , Panom Sarakham, Kabin Buri , then turn right to use Highway no.33 to Sa Kaeo Province, estimate disctance 210 km.
- Take Highway no. 304 through Min buri district, Chachoengsao province , Panom Sarakham, Khao Hin Sorn Royal Development Study Center until reach Km. 54 , then turn right to use Highway no.54 for another 65 km. to Sa Kaeo Province,
2. By bus, take the Bangkok- Sa Kaeo, from Thai Transportation Station (Mho Chit 2) service many rounds, every day.
3. By Train, there are trains from Bangkok Railway station (Hua Lamphong) to Sa Kaeo province everyday. Estimate duration is 3.5 - 4.5 hrs.
