The museum displays exhibitions on the cultural heritage of the three southern border provinces such as in geography, history, archaeology, ethnology, culture and tradition etc. They can be classified into 13 sections as follows:

          1. Geography of the Southern Border: This section displays the geographical characteristics of the southern border provinces which are ideal for settlement.

          2. Pre-Historic Archaeology and Ethnic: For this section, it all started with the discovery at the Tham Sin Canyon Archaeological Site, Yala Province in which evidence indicating the traits of pre-historic men in the three southern border provinces was discovered. It pointed out that these people had been leading their lives based on the geographical conditions as well as the prosperous environment including abundant wild animals.

          3. Early History – Patani Darussalam – Rattanakosin: During this period, the community center was moved from ancient Yarang Town to the location closer to the coast and delta. During B.E. 21-22, the port town of Pattani was known widely among Portuguese and Dutch traders. During Rattanakosin era, the town itself was divided into 7 sub-main towns of Pattani, Nong Chik, Yaring, Saiburi, Ra-Ngae, Raman and Yala.

          4. Stories of Those with Excellent Cultural Achievement: Some of the notable figures here are Mr. Khader Verdeng, the 1993 National Artist of Thailand in Performing Art (Thai Dance), Mr. Chatchai Visessuwanpoom, the 1997 National Artist of Thailand in Literature and the local Ronggeng artist Mr. Seng Abu, recipient of the 2012 Excellent Cultural Achievement from Southern Arts and Culture Hall, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Cultural Studies.

          5. Language and Literature: This section presents the local dialects used in the three southern border provinces. They can be classified into 2 main groups of local southern Thai and local Malay.

          6. Cultural Sightseeing: This includes the 1,300-year-old ancient city of Yarang, Krue Se Mosque, Chao Mae (Female Holy Spirit) Lim Ko Niao Chinese Shrine, Pattani Central Mosque and Betong Tunnel.

          Section 7-9 presents local lifestyle and significant tradition of Buddhist Thais, Thai Chinese and Muslim Thais.

          10.Craftsmanship: This section displays famous works from the craftsmanship of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat provinces. They consist of Kolek boat art, Lima fabric, brass equipment as well as daggers and weapons.

          11. Local Performing Arts and Plays: This section presents the unique local performances and plays of the three southern border provinces such as the shadow play, Nora traditional folk dance as well as Mak Yong, Ronggeng and Dikir Hulu performances.

          12. Local Wisdom: This section presents local wisdom in various aspects such as architecture, house-building and occupation in local fishery, salt farms as well as food such as Budu sauce, Southern Thai rice salad, food preservation and local desserts.

          13. Today’s Southern Border: This section portrays a daily life in a local market such as tea shop, shopping and chatting.
