The Theatre for the Soul
In 1962, Buddhadasa founded the Theatre for the Soul or Suan Mokkh Theatre with the inspiration from the Ajanta Caves in India. There he had viewed a series of interesting paintings, which were amazing and attracting local and foreign tourists. This was considered an initial strategy that influences people to unknowingly turn to religion. Inside the theatre, there are art paintings, poems, principles from different Buddhism denominations, pictures of the Lord Buddha’s biography, replicas of stone-carved pictures and the Lord Buddha’s biography in India.
