Muang Phrae Museum or “Khum Chao Luang” is an important history place of Phrae province. It was the residence of His majesty King Bhumibol and Her Majesty the Queen, and royal family, when they visited Phrae province.
After the ruler of Muang Phrae, “Chao Phraya Piriya Thepvong” escaped the reign of “Ngiaw” robbery to Luang Prabang, Khum Chao Luang was transform to be many important places such as a camp of Cavalry platoon sent from Bangkok to safeguard Phrae province, a province’s school for boy called “Stable school” or “Khog Mah school”

Getting There
1. By car from Bangkok, take Highway No. 1 (Phaholyothin rd.) into Highway No.32 pass through Ayutthaya, Ang-thong, Singburi, Chainat, Pichit, Pitsanulok, Uttradit, and to Phrae province, estimate duration of 7-8 hrs.
2. By bus. There are buses service many rounds on every day, both normal and Air-conditioned buses from Bangkok to Phrae, leaving from North Eastern Transport Station (Mho Chit 2) at Kamphaengpet 2 Rd.,
3. By train, Get off at Den Chai train station, the everyday services between Den Chai station to other provinces, both to and from. Distance between Den Chai to Phrae is 24 km.
4. By Airplane, there is everyday flight from Bangkok to Phrae, estimate flight time 1 hr.
