Ubonratchathani Science Center for Education was established by the cabinet resolution dated 16 August 1994 on the formation of science centres for education in all education area districts as proposed by the the Ministry of Education with the objectives to serve as a learning source of science, technology and environment for children, students and general public in responsible areas, which include Ubon Ratchathani, Amnat Charoen and Sisaket Provinces. 

Objectives of the centre are as follows:

1. Widen the opportunities in terms of education in science from central to regional areas.

2. Serve as the source of technology and study of science, technology and environment.

3. Disseminate knowledge in science, technology and environment to target audience.

4. Promote participation from the centre’s network in the holding of activities and distribution of knowledge in science, technology and environment.
