Information
Wichayen House or The Royal Envoy Reception Residence was built in 1685 to welcome the first French envoys who came to Ayutthaya during the reign of King Narai. It is also a home in Lop Buri of Thao Thong Kip Ma and her husband, Chaophraya Wichayen (Constantine Phaulkon), King Narai's favorite Greek treasurer. The Royal Envoy Reception House is very spacious, divided into 3 parts. To the west is the residence of the French envoys. The central area is a bell tower with a church behind it. The entrance gate is a gable shape. On the east side there is a staircase with a half-circle front and an entrance arch. The back of the residence is a water tank. And there's a lawn in the front of the lawn of the residence. Architectural style of the royal residence is truly European.
