Information
Khao Kho International Library was built in 1995. Government officials in Phetchabun Province collaborated with Mr. Charas Puachuay and the villagers to build the library. Ambassadors from several countries attended the opening ceremony. The area of the library is approximately 10 rai. The distinctive feature is a large library situated in the center. It is constructed in the shape of an upended diamond and covered in reflective glass. The front of the library is a garden of winter flowers. The left of the library is a chedi which enshrines the Buddha’s relics from Sri Lanka. There is also a life-sized statue of Luang Po Tob, who was much revered by Phetchabun locals. The International Library is divided into 3 sections. The first section consists of furniture, showcases, antique cabinets which house both Thai and foreign artifacts, such as 200-year-old scales and wicker baskets from the Sukhothai period. This area is also where His Majesty the King’s royal seat is preserved. The second section is the public library which provides educational information for the general public and students. The third section is the Khao Kho District’s Non-formal and Informal Education office for services in all types of non-formal education.
